About Us — Locally Owned and Family-Operated

Genie's Drapery Service is a family-run business with roots in the Charleston, SC, area stretching back to the early 1900s. What began as a broader furnishings company has grown into one of the most respected names in custom window treatments in the Lowcountry. The business is named after Genie Murray, who remains actively involved in day-to-day operations alongside her son, the current owner, Bill.


Our story is really a family story. Sandra has been part of our crew for over twenty years. Ariana has been here for close to twenty years. Every single person on our staff has been with us for over a decade, and that kind of loyalty and consistency shows in the quality of our work and the relationships we build with our clients.

He is one of the few Lutron-certified professionals in the area and a certified Hunter Douglas Home Technology Integration Specialist (HTIS) installer.
